Global Volunteer Day Project Round-Up

October 25th, 2011 No comments

Lynn Ertell-Yanke (Senior Relocation Director for Prudential Preferred, REALTORS) coordinated the Global Volunteer Day projects for PPR’s Grand Rapids and Rockford offices.

Volunteers participated in three separate projects.

  1. Collecting personal care items for the North Kent Service Center
  2. Baking treats for the Ronald McDonald House
  3. Painting a home with the Inner City Christian Federation

Just wanted to say THANK YOU to you all for your generosity and big hearts in helping with our Global Volunteer Day Projects this year!  It’s amazing to see such a giving group pitch in and help out each and every year.

First off, THANK YOU to all of you who donated to the Personal Care Item Drive for the North Kent Community Services center.  They picked up the bins yesterday and were so grateful and appreciative for the donations.  The bins were overflowing with all sorts of needed items such as detergent, soap, toothpaste, shampoo, etc.

Second, THANK YOU to all of you who helped in the kitchen at the Ronald McDonald House.  Lots of goodies were prepared for the families staying at the house.  Tom and Tracie Rich and Doug Kliewer baked away one morning, as did Don King, Beth Skidmore and myself another morning – with added ingredients compliments of Michele Hanmer.

And finally, THANK YOU to the those that volunteered their time at the ICCF painting porch rail sections for one of their houses.  Wayne Stapley, Steve Schelling, Betsy Dean and her son all braved the oil-based primer with ease, with only one minor spill :)   We had a great time though, and were even captured “in action” for a documentary they were filming that day.

5 Ways to Know If A Home Is “The One”

October 24th, 2011 No comments

With so many homes on the market, many buyers house hunt for months, even years before hitting property pay-dirt.  Even for the savvy buyers who have narrowed their house hunt to an affordable price range, the condition issues so common in distressed homes can make choosing a home difficult.

PPR Battle Creek Office participates in Global Volunteer Day

October 20th, 2011 No comments

On behalf of the PPR Foundation, agent Judy Douglas coordinated the Battle Creek office’s efforts for the “Coats and Cans” endeavor for Prudential’s Global Volunteer Day.

We really came together as an office and made our contributions count.

We donated 140 pounds of food to the Food Bank and more coats than we could count to Charitable Union. Charitable Union was very low on coats this year, and they were so grateful for our donations.

We complied with all the requirements to be considered for a larger monetary grant from Prudential for our charities, so our efforts may produce even more results.

None of this would have been possible without the combined efforts of so many of us. So – thank you, thank you!!!!! You are an amazing office!!

- Judy Douglas
