On Tuesday Gerald R Ford President Museum held a ceremony to open “Growing Up Grand” their newest exhibit. The exhibit showcases former President Gerald Ford from his birthplace to his graduation giving an insight to the making of the 38th President. The Museum is open daily from 9:00am to 5:00pm for visitors. Looking for an activity for your kids to enjoy this week? The DeltaPlex kicked off the 2013 Kidzfest yesterday and the event goes through Sunday, April 7. The event has activities for children of all ages from toddlers to teens. The features of the event include: a magic show, exotic animals show, a game show, and a 200-foot indoor zip line. Besides the features there is also live entertainment a petting zoo and a separate Kidzville area that is strictly for children ages 3-7. Grand Rapids four major downtown museums will offer free admission on Sunday, April 21 from 12pm to 5pm. The Grand Rapids Art Museum, Grand Rapids Children’s Museum, the Grand Rapids Public Museum and the Gerald R Ford Presidential Museum are the four museums offering this free event. Amway Corporation is sponsoring the event by supplying volunteers at each museum to help pull off this free event. American Axle & Manufacturing Holdings Inc. recently announced that they will be looking to hire 500 factory hourly workers and 40 salaried employees at their Three Rivers plant this year. The hiring already started in January and the company expects to bring on 20 to 40 positions per week through August.
