Realtors in Northern Michigan saw residential property sales increase in 2012 compared to 2011. According to statistics reported by Emmet Association of Realtors, 1,288 residential sales took place regionally in 2012 compared to 1,097 the previous year. Emmet, Charlevoix and Antrim counties were included in the report along with a few sales completed by local Realtors in nearby counties. On Thursday, January 3, 2013 Boyne City’s central historic district was added to the National Register of Historic Places. The downtown Boyne City area joins 250 districts throughout the state listed on the register. The process began in October 2011 and the final application was submitted in June of last year, which was approved by the state and the National Park Service conducted the final approval. Charlevoix is bringing in the New Year with a new tradition, the Charlevoix Bridge Drop, which will take place beginning at 11:30pm on December, 31.
